Amortization schedule Excel export

To build the schedule, enter your loan.

  • The payment after the recast.
  • Interest paid over the life of the loan.
  • Files in Excel and CSV formats.

This covers principal and interest only, while taxes and insurance (escrow) are billed separately. Recasting is not available for FHA, VA or USDA loans.

How the amortization schedule Excel file is built

  • Each month has a row with payment, interest, principal, lump sum and balance.
  • To get the interest for one month, multiply the balance by the note rate and divide by 12.
  • For the recast month, the payment is recalculated based on the new balance and the number of months left.
  • Your file is made in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Questions about an amortization schedule with a lump sum

  1. Can I open it in Google Sheets?

Yes, indeed. You can open both the Excel file and the CSV in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.

  2. How does the recast month work?

The lump sum is subtracted from the balance that month, then the payment is recalculated at the same rate for the months left.
